the process of investing with evans capital partners
Evans Capital Partners uses the online broker Inveractive Brokers Group to maintain all client funds. Interactive Brokers is a large publically traded company (market cap $43B, stock symbol IBKR). You open an account with Interactive Broker, deposit your funds there, and provide trading permission to Evans Capital Partners to invest your funds.
Evans Capital Partners will invest the funds you deposit into your account, but we do not have the authority to move your funds from your account.
You can withdraw or add funds whenever you desire, without going through Evans Capital Partners.
Evans Capital Partners maintains a single portfolio of stocks and bonds that is identical in its composition for all account holders. That is, Evans Capital Partners determines the allocations on a percent basis for its portfolio, and then every client account obtains an identical percentage allocation of funds.
Any dividends will be paid directly to your account as they occur.
You are the direct owner of all the securities in your portfolio: you are shareholder of record - you can vote your shares at annual meetings.
You will receive tax documents directly from Interactive Brokers in your account. You will use these documents to complete your annual tax returns.
There is a minimum investment of $1000, but no maximum.
The fees are 1% per year based on the size of your investment: the fee will be 0.25% of your total investment each quarter. You will be charged trading fees for your account directly by Interactive Brokers. The fee schedule is very competitive with other online brokers (NOTE: There are no fees for U.S. equities). On average there will be very few trades each year.
